Updated October 15, 2026. This guide reflects the current native iPhone and iPad workflow.
A useful lineup sheet answers a few questions quickly: who is playing, which positions they are starting in, and what the bench should expect next. Hockey Lineup Manager lets you prepare that reference in its native iPhone and iPad app, then export a PDF.
Start with an accurate roster
Check names and jersey numbers before assigning lines. Confirm attendance and goalie plans with the coaching staff. Reusing a saved roster reduces typing, but it does not confirm that every player is available for this particular game.
Build the position layout
- Choose the players available for the game.
- Assign left wing, center, and right wing for each forward group.
- Set the defense pairs and goalie assignments.
- Add the opponent, game date, coaching staff, and team branding where applicable.
Use the actual roster in front of you. A short bench may need a rotation plan as well as a printed starting lineup; a static sheet alone cannot explain who fills every extra shift.
Review before exporting
Read the sheet as if you were the assistant who has not seen your planning. Check that position groups are clear, names are readable, and the date and opponent are correct. If a player is absent, adjust the lineup before distributing the final version.
Save the completed lineup with the relevant game details so you can find and reopen it later. When you make a late change, send a fresh export and make clear that it replaces the earlier copy.
Share the right document
A lineup PDF is useful for the locker room, bench staff, and your own game preparation. Scoresheet Stickers are a separate HLM tool for printable roster labels. Follow the league or tournament’s instructions when submitting official paperwork; not every organizer accepts the same document.
Get the current iPhone and iPad app
Hockey Lineup Manager is free to download for iPhone and iPad. Scoresheet Stickers do not require a Pro subscription; advanced coaching tools are offered through Pro. Check the App Store and in-app purchase screen for current pricing and access details.
