Instead of downloading five apps because a ranking says you should, identify the coaching jobs you need help with. Several can be handled inside Hockey Lineup Manager on iPhone and iPad; others belong in your team’s administration system.
1. Game lineups
Build forward lines, defense pairs, and goalie assignments from the available roster. Save the game plan and export a clear reference. Review the lineup yourself rather than assuming software has made every coaching decision.
2. Drill diagrams and references
Use Whiteboard to prepare rink diagrams, and My Drills to keep reusable video, link, photo, or diagram references. Add a short explanation of what you want players to learn. A large collection of clips is not automatically a useful teaching library.
3. Practice timing
Place the selected drills into Practice Planner, add durations and notes, and compare the total with your ice slot. Build in time to explain and move equipment. Export a plan assistants can read before they arrive.
4. Team performance records
Enter and review the relevant player and goalie data in Season Stats. Use game and season reports to support your coaching review, while keeping official league records separate. Do not reduce a player’s development to one number.
5. Communication and administration
Share supported HLM PDFs and diagrams with the staff. Continue using the team’s chosen schedule and messaging system for availability, reminders, and family communication. A shared export is not a multi-user live-editing service.
