Updated October 15, 2026. This guide reflects the current native iPhone and iPad workflow.
A faster lineup usually comes from preparation, not rushing through the screen. Save accurate roster information, agree on the game’s available players, and use a repeatable review. Hockey Lineup Manager supports that workflow in its native iPhone and iPad app.
Do the repeat work before game day
Check player names and numbers and save the relevant team roster. Confirm your staff information and team branding. Keeping those details organized reduces the amount you need to re-enter when the opponent and date change.
Build this game’s plan
- Open Lineup Manager and choose the relevant saved roster or game plan.
- Confirm who is available before assigning positions.
- Arrange forward lines, defense pairs, and goalies.
- Add the opponent and date, then review the complete sheet.
- Save and export the lineup for the bench or assistants.
Do not trade review time for avoidable errors
Even a familiar roster needs a final check. Look for the missing player, changed jersey number, or goalie assignment that does not match the staff’s plan. Do not promise yourself a fixed completion time if attendance is still uncertain.
Share a current snapshot
A PDF export is useful because assistants can read it without accessing your locally saved app data. If you make another edit, issue a new export and identify it as the current version.
Keep important work backed up using the available tools. A lineup saved on your iPhone should not be assumed to have appeared automatically on an iPad or another coach’s device.
Use the right free starting point
Older instructions described a free browser lineup builder with no App Store download. This guide now covers the native iOS app. Scoresheet Stickers remain free without Pro, while advanced lineup tools and exports can require Pro. Check access before relying on the workflow for a game.
Get the current iPhone and iPad app
Hockey Lineup Manager is free to download for iPhone and iPad. Scoresheet Stickers do not require a Pro subscription; advanced coaching tools are offered through Pro. Check the App Store and in-app purchase screen for current pricing and access details.
View Hockey Lineup Manager on the App Store, or explore its coaching tools. This article describes the native iOS app, not the former browser-based workflow.
