Decide what actually needs to change
An absence may affect one position or several groups. Identify the change first, then review the whole lineup for duplicate names, missing assignments, and goalie coverage. Avoid a chain of verbal exceptions that nobody can repeat.
Update the source and the shared copy
Revise the saved lineup in Hockey Lineup Manager and generate a new PDF if assistants rely on paper. The original shared file is a snapshot and will not update itself. Keep one version clearly identified as current.
