“Team sheet” can mean different things at the rink. One person may need a roster for the scoresheet; another needs the forward lines and defense pairs. Choosing the correct format avoids handing a scorekeeper a bench plan or giving an assistant a list with no positions.
Decide who will use it
- Coaching staff: position groups, goalie assignments, opponent, and date.
- Scorekeeper: the roster and coaching information required by that game’s process.
- Players: a simple, current reference for the starting groups.
- Team administration: the league’s own eligibility or registration records.
Build a bench team sheet in HLM
In the native Hockey Lineup Manager app, start with your saved roster and create the lineup for the game. Assign forwards, defense pairs, and goalies, then add the relevant team and game details.
Read the finished PDF before sharing. Make sure names and numbers match the players who are dressed, and confirm that the staff understands the plan for an uneven number of skaters.
Use roster stickers for a different job

Keep the current copy obvious
Save the game plan with a clear opponent and date. If a last-minute change requires a new export, tell assistants to replace the old copy rather than adding another document to the group chat without explanation.
Do not include private family or medical details on a team sheet intended for public posting. Use the appropriate team-administration system for that information.
Check event requirements
A team sheet created in an app may be useful for your staff without satisfying tournament registration or official roster rules. Confirm the organizer’s requested format before game day.
