Updated October 15, 2026. This guide reflects the current native iPhone and iPad workflow.
A hockey roster template is useful when it matches its audience. A scorekeeper needs different information from a coach assigning lines, and neither needs a public copy of every family’s contact details. The current HockeyApps workflow uses native iPhone and iPad tools rather than a browser-based template editor.
Choose the document before choosing the layout
- Roster labels: team, player, and staff information for an accepted scoresheet format.
- Lineup cards: starting positions, forward lines, defense pairs, and goalie assignments.
- Administrative records: eligibility, registration, and private contacts handled through the appropriate team system.
Use the free label option where it fits
Scoresheet Stickers are included inside Hockey Lineup Manager without a Pro subscription. Enter the roster and team information, review the PDF, and print it on Avery 8163-compatible label sheets.
The output is generated from the app. This article does not offer a separate fillable PDF file, a spreadsheet download, or a universal league-registration template.
Use a lineup tool for coaching detail
If assistants need to know who plays center or which defense pair goes next, a basic roster template is not enough. Use Lineup Manager to arrange the available players by position and produce a coaching reference.
Review the access requirements for that tool in the app. Free roster labels should not be confused with a promise that every advanced coaching export is free.
Keep the roster accurate and proportionate
Check spelling, jersey numbers, and availability before each game. Avoid collecting more information in a widely shared document than the audience needs.
Saved app data stays locally on the device unless you use the available export or backup options. Do not assume a roster saved on one device has automatically synchronized to another.
Get the current iPhone and iPad app
Hockey Lineup Manager is a native app for iPhone and iPad. It is free to download, and its Scoresheet Stickers tool does not require a Pro subscription. Some other coaching tools require Pro. See the App Store and the app’s purchase screen for current options.
View Hockey Lineup Manager on the App Store, or explore its coaching tools. This article describes the native iOS app, not the former browser-based workflow.
